Musing Mondays (hosted by Should Be Reading) asks you to muse about one of the following each week…
• Describe one of your reading habits.
• Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s).
• Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it.
I thought it was a “How-to” guide. Boy, was I wrong!
I am reading Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore. I was hoping for tips and tricks for keeping my demons in line. This debut novel is the first of Moore’s hilarious romps through Pine Cove, California. (You can visit again in The Lust Lizard of Melancholy Cove.)
I really like Moore’s irreverent humor, bawdiness, and clever mixture of fantasy and reality. My only complaint is that I am sure I look like a complete nut-case when I read his books in public. Giggling to myself, snorting coffee everywhere and the like.
I only have one more of his books that I have not read — The Stupidest Angel. It is on my TBR shelf just waiting for the right time to be consumed. It’ll happen soon, I am sure.
