WWW Wednesday (July 24)

WWW Wednesday (July 24)No memories; enormous, vine-covered walls; slug-like mechanical adversaries; and a mysterious girl in a coma — what more could I ask for in a new-to-me Dystopian series?

W…W…W…Wednesdays is a weekly reading prompt hosted by MizB at Should be Reading.

TO PLAY ALONG, JUST ANSWER THE FOLLOWING THREE (3) QUESTIONS:

  1. What are you currently reading?
  2. What did you recently finish reading?
  3. What do you think you’ll read next?

I am currently reading The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This series was recommended by a friend. I have to admit that the first 75 or so pages had me wondering if I was going to like these books. Then I realized that I was feeling the same angst that the main character, Thomas, was feeling. He would ask a question and no one would give him an answer. I was experiencing the same frustration — hoping the author would provide some answers to make sense of things.

Then the story picks up — and so do my spirits. I am enjoying it now.

In the last week, I finished Agent to the Stars by John Scalzi. It was a humorous mix of pop culture and aliens. I always like John Scalzi’s books. They are typically quick reads and the story moves along really well. Plus, who couldn’t use a few laughs?

What’s next? I think I will dive right into the second book in the Maze Runner trilogy, The Scorch Trials.

Have a great week!!
